Our department was established in 1982 as one of the first departments of METU Gaziantep Campus. Since 1988, he has been continuing his education activities within the scope of Gaziantep University Engineering Faculty. Our department provides education at undergraduate, master and doctoral levels. The language of instruction in all our programs is 100% English, and there is a one-year English preparatory period at the undergraduate level. The undergraduate education period is three and a half years, excluding the preparatory class, and it is given as applied engineering education in the last semester before graduation. The Department of Civil Engineering consists of a total of five divisions: Structure, Hydraulics, Mechanics, Geotechnical and Transportation. Our department has classrooms and laboratories equipped with modern equipment in its own educational buildings.
Since the first day of its establishment, our department has aimed to develop continuously with its students, teaching staff and administrative staff, to gain a certain place in our country and in the world, and to become an outstanding engineering education unit. It has also been certified by national and international rating agencies that we are moving towards this goal. In the evaluation made by URAP, our department is in the 201-300 band among world universities according to the "Shanghai Rankking' Galobal 2018 Civil Engineering" rating, respectively, among the Civil Engineering Departments that provide education in our country in the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 academic terms.
